Why Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery matters
Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery is the special art subset tucked inside Crown Zenith, the January 2023 set that closed the book on the Sword & Shield era. Where the earlier Trainer Gallery subsets (Brilliant Stars, Astral Radiance, Lost Origin, Silver Tempest) each ran to roughly 30 cards, Galarian Gallery blew the format wide open with 70 cards — a full-length art gallery that functions like its own set-within-a-set. Every card carries the "GG" prefix, and pulling any of them from Crown Zenith product is a genuine event.
The subset spans two visual languages. The lower numbers lean into the character-forward Trainer Gallery style — Pokémon rendered alongside trainers in painterly scenes — while the back half delivers full-art VSTAR and VMAX cards drawn from the Sinnoh-heavy storyline of the era. That means the Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia VSTARs, a Giratina VSTAR, and the marquee Arceus VSTAR all live here, alongside crowd-pleasers like Mewtwo VSTAR, Darkrai VSTAR and the Eeveelution VSTARs. The Secret Rare rainbow-style VSTARs at the top of the checklist (GG67–GG70) are where the heaviest value sits.
What makes Galarian Gallery matter to collectors is the density of desirable art in one place. This isn't a set padded with filler — the artist roster leans into detailed, story-driven illustrations, and cards like Mew, Ditto and Pikachu deliver the kind of clean, gradeable character art that photographs beautifully in a slab. It's the send-off gallery for an entire generation of the game, and collectors treat it accordingly.
Its reputation is strong but demanding. Because Crown Zenith itself was a special expansion sold heavily in curated, non-standard products, and because the Galarian Gallery cards are the pull everyone wants, assembling the full 70 is a real project. Collectors love the art; they respect the grind.
